Think Neptunes or Timbaland but it's 2023 and they are screaming - not sure if in pleasure or horrific pain. Kilauea is: A) the hottest and most active volcano in the world, and B) Ink Midget's brand new EP for Mäss C) A + B + D.
The scene is set: you are merging with a ritualistic if at times sultry dance session of 90's R&B worshippers. Almost a noise/dancehall take on cumbia or nervous tarraxinha mutations.
Its utopian pop music, in an ideal vision of the future, playing at 3AM in your local kebab shop. All that partly driven by a tiny soundart collective living inside of Ink Midget’s music software that gives plenty of organic glitz to his raw beat dynamics. Alyaah's delayed vocal samples meet dislocated grime tropes, meet suburban melancholia, meets new world music coda, meets who knows what. Particularly the last bit gives Ink Midget's work its indisputable novelty.

An EP with a perfect home on NAAFI. Climate change will have lots of places will be underwater within the next 30 years, South Florida (where I'm from) being one of them. This EP captures that impending doom perfectly. The percussion is absolutely relentless bort.
